One of my football friends thinks that I'm injury-prone and that I am made
of glass. I disagree. You be the judge. Here's the summary of my
medical history over the last ten years.
| INJURY | CAUSE | AMOUNT OF TIME TO REHAB | NUMBER OF SURGERIES/PROCEDURES |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprained shoulder | Baseball | 1 year | N/A |
| Broken ankle | Football | 1 year | N/A |
| Fractured patella | Basketball | 1 year | 2 surgeries |
| Severely sprained ankle #1 | Softball | 2 months | N/A |
| Partially torn finger ligament | Football | 4 weeks | N/A |
| Strained bicep tendon | Football | 3 months | N/A |
| Severely sprained ankle #2 | Basketball | 3 weeks | N/A |
| Torn anterior cruciate ligament | Basketball | Currently 25 months | 2 surgeries |
| L5/S1 Herniated Disc | Basketball | Currently 7 months | 2 procedures |
So why so many injuries? If I had to guess, I would have to say that it's a combination of bad luck, I'm somewhat injury prone, I go all out when I am playing, and I like contact sports (that's why football is my favorite sport). In retrospect, these four factors are not condusive to good health.
